There is no greater asset in Frisco ISD than the teachers who directly impact students every single day.
This year, teachers are multi-tasking to the maximum with students in-class and virtually while taking on additional responsibilities to maintain campus safety. These unprecedented times have required them to transform their instructional strategies to address the academic and social-emotional needs of students.
Without a doubt, Frisco ISD has amazing teachers, but each year, the District is honored to recognize those chosen by their peers and supervisors for rising above the rest. All 72 campuses have officially named their Campus Teacher of the Year!
Each Campus Teacher of the Year proudly represents the District’s mission and beliefs while being a role model for their colleagues. The District is #StrongerTogether thanks to these incredible teachers.
The process for Teacher of the Year selection is based on criteria from the Texas Association of School Administrators. Each campus Teacher of the Year will submit an application that includes their resume, two essay responses and two letters of recommendation in hopes of being selected as the official FISD Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year winners.
A selection committee will review the applications anonymously and use a rubric to score the responses. The selection committee is made up of representatives from the Frisco Area Retired School Personnel, the Frisco ISD Council of PTAs and Frisco Education Foundation Board, as well as business and community leaders.
Last year’s esteemed winners were Melanie Rutter of Vaughn Elementary School and Chris Ham of Liberty High School. Learn more about them here.
