Board Leadership Academy

Frisco ISD's Board Leadership Academy is designed for community members who may be interested in running for a seat on the Board of Trustees. The Academy's purpose is to educate community members about district operations and the roles and responsibilities of a School Board member. Community members who complete the full program will receive a Board Leadership Academy certificate.

There are two pathways to completion of the Board Leadership Academy:

• Academy Route: Members must attend three (3) sessions: District Education Night, Understanding FISD, and the Governance Capstone, plus attend a regular School Board meeting.

• Insight Route: This route is for individuals participating in the FISD Insight program. In addition to Insight, members must attend the Governance Capstone plus a regular School Board meeting.

Registration for the Board Leadership Academy will be open from November 1-21, 2025. Community members who register will receive additional communication on or before December 1.
