About Us

Our Mission

The mission of the Frisco ISD Government Affairs department is to educate stakeholders and engage them in the legislative process to enhance our students' educational experience.

How We Accomplish Our Mission

Engage with the Frisco ISD Community
Frisco ISD Government Affairs developed a Legislative Leadership Committee made up of over a hundred stakeholders from across the district to represent the Frisco ISD community. The Committee works to develop legislative priorities for adoption by the Board of Trustees, learns about the state legislature and how legislation is passed, receives updates regarding pending legislation during the legislative session, hears from our elected officials and provides feedback throughout the legislative session.

Engage with Partners
We have worked with more than 250 other school districts and partner organizations from across the state to share resources and information regarding pending legislation. We also developed a grassroots network of more than 60 school districts in Regions 10 and 11 who collaborate in regular workshops to review and analyze proposed legislation. Statewide collaboration helps us to fully understand the impact state action has on districts across the state as well as Frisco ISD.

Engage with Legislators
Frisco ISD is positioned to serve as a resource for legislators on education-related issues. We work to provide factual information to legislators on how bills will impact students and school districts. We approach each session with a positive, collaborative, and solution-oriented approach, working with offices on both sides of the aisle. This approach allows us to advocate for students’ educational experiences while remaining outside the political fray.
