Community members are welcome to utilize certain unlocked facilities for recreational use when the facilities are not in use by the District or for another scheduled purpose; however, use of natural grass surfaces at middle and high schools is prohibited.
Available facilities open to the community include the middle school tracks, the cinder track by the Career and Technical Education Center at Wade Blvd. and Ohio Dr., elementary playgrounds, and the tennis courts. Elementary playgrounds are closed to public use until 6:30 p.m. on school days due to use by aftercare vendors. The district does not reserve these outdoor recreational areas; they are available on a first-come, first-use basis, though the district will occasionally allow city affiliated groups to utilize tennis courts for a tennis program. Contact the Athletic Office regarding tennis court contracts.
Irrigated areas such as middle school football fields and all baseball fields are not available for general public use. For high school fields, see athletic rentals.
Open outdoor facilities are available for recreational purposes only and are not available for reservation, organized/team use, regularly scheduled/weekly use, or business/for-profit use.
Roller blades, roller skates, skateboards, and bikes should never be used on the tennis courts.
Dogs are not allowed on school property during school hours and are not allowed on tracks. If you have your pets on school grounds after hours, please be respectful and adhere to all posted signage as well as city ordinances regarding leashes and picking up waste.
