Student Teachers
Only requests from colleges, universities, alternative certification programs, and their affiliated program personnel will be accepted for student teaching and classroom observation. Requests from individual students via email or phone calls will not be considered.
Frisco ISD welcomes student teachers during the fall and spring semesters. Adherence to the timeline will assist us in accommodating requests efficiently and on time.
-
Fall Semester 2024 - Student teaching applications will be accepted starting Monday, March 18, 2024. Applications must be received by Monday, April 22, 2024.
-
Spring Semester 2025 - Student-teacher applications will be accepted starting Monday, October 7, 2024. Applications must be received by Monday, November 11, 2024.
Program Director, Supervisor and Coordinator Guidelines
Review these guidelines in full before starting the application process. Share this information with other members of your program and professors who may assign course requirements.
Each student observer requesting placement must complete and submit a District Criminal Background Check.
-
The background check will be processed, and the placement process will begin upon approval.
-
Requests for placement will only be accepted with an approved background check.
Prospective student teachers must work with their program supervisor to complete and submit a Student Placement Application.
-
Once complete, the application must be forwarded to the program supervisor for review.
-
The program representative will review, sign and submit the application to the district on the student’s behalf.
-
When completing the application, please designate a single contact person.
The program supervisor should submit the Student Placement Application to:
-
FISD Human Resource Services Department via StudentTeacher@friscoisd.org
-
Program applications, if available, may also be included with requests; however, only requests using the FISD application will be processed.
Placement availability is limited; therefore, placement requests should be made as soon as possible.
Students and programs are discouraged from contacting principals or individual teachers requesting placement.
-
All requests should go through the above process. Candidates are welcome to include requests for specific placements (teacher, campus, grade level). FISD will do its best to accommodate these requests, but placement is not guaranteed.
