Frisco ISD provides full-day kindergarten at all elementary campuses. Access the attendance zone search tool to find the zoned school based on your address. The campus is your best source of information and continued guidance.

To attend kindergarten, students must be 5 or older on or before Sept. 1 of the school year. View the kindergarten qualifications flowchart for additional guidance.

If you move to Frisco ISD during the school year and have a child that turned 5 after Sept. 1, your child may not be eligible to enroll.

  • Exception: A student younger than 5 years of age as of Sept. 1 may enter kindergarten if they take the third grade reading and math STAAR test and perform in the Approaches Grade Level category on both assessments. Learn about acceleration.

New 2025-26 Kindergarten students are welcome to register beginning Feb. 11 and have a window of time to transfer within the school district from Feb. 17-28, 2025. Access the In-District transfer page.

  • Children enrolled in Pre-K for the 2024-25 school year are not considered new students and will apply during the Annual Student Registration window that begins April 1, 2025.
