The following is a list of basic requirements that has been established by the Frisco Independent School District and the Texas Education Agency. These requirements must be met and maintained to be eligible for participation in Off-Campus PE.
No off-campus program will be allowed if located more than twenty-five (25) miles from the Frisco Independent School District Administration Building: 5515 Ohio Drive, 75035. Students may only use 1 facility to fulfill the required hours to participate in OCPE.
Only those students in grades six (6) through twelve (12) will be eligible to apply for the Off Campus PE program. Students participating in the OCPE program will receive ½ credit of physical education credit per semester. Students enrolled in OCPE will participate in the Fitnessgram.
The following are qualified activities open for Off Campus PE for 2024-2025:
Archery, Badminton, Bowling, Competitive Cheer, Cricket, Dance, Equestrian, Fencing, Figure Skating, Futsal, Golf (Middle School Only), Gymnastics, Hockey, Lacrosse, Martial Arts, Polo, Racquetball, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Rock Climbing, Rowing, Squash, Swimming (Middle School Only), Synchronized Swimming, Tennis (Middle School Only), Wrestling (Middle School Only)
*All approved FISD OCPE facilities are found in the online application.
Students may not be enrolled in PE or an Athletics class while participating in Off-Campus PE. Students may not drop Off-Campus PE to participate in athletics or vice versa during the same school year.
Students applying for Off-Campus Physical Education will be considered under
three (3) categories.
CATEGORY ONE: Students must participate in his/her activity, under professional supervision, a minimum of 15 hours a week at one approved facility. Students participation is required a minimum of four days during the week (Monday through Friday) plus one additional day that may fall on a weekend or during the week for a total of 5 days per week. The hours may not include travel time. Students may leave campus one class period early, AM or PM.
Students must make arrangements to be off campus grounds at the designated release time each school day, students are not permitted to remain on campus during their OCPE class period. Students must maintain a passing average in all classes and good citizenship.
CATEGORY TWO: Students must participate in his/her activity, under professional supervision, a minimum of 10 hours a week at one approved facility. Students will NOT be released from school. Students will choose an elective class to replace their PE class. Students must maintain a passing average in all classes and good citizenship.
CATEGORY THREE: Students must participate in his/her activity, under professional supervision, a minimum of 25 hours a week at one approved facility. Student participation is required a minimum of five days each week, and at least four of those days must fall Monday through Friday. The hours may not include travel time. A student may be dismissed up to two periods per day. Students must make arrangements to be off campus grounds at the designated release time each school day; students are not permitted to remain on campus during their OCPE class period. Students enrolled in Category 3 must maintain an acceptable grade average in all classes. Grades will be checked each grading period. Students will be placed on probation for one grading period for failure to maintain an acceptable grade average in all classes. Students who do not maintain the proper grade average may have the Off-Campus PE privilege revoked to allow more time to focus on classwork. Acceptable behavior on campus at all times is required. Multiple disciplinary referrals may be grounds for dismissal.

Middle and High School students: The students previous year report card will need to be submitted and reviewed before approval. High School Students: A 4-year plan that ensures the student will meet graduation criteria under the district’s default graduation plan.
INFORMATION FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL PARENTS: Below is the information regarding the middle school block schedule and how it will affect the release time for Off Campus PE students. Off-Campus PE students must attend all of their scheduled campus courses; which requires the omission of the OCPE release on either Wednesday or Thursday. On the alternate day, a longer release period will be available. These adjustments will be determined by the class period of the student’s enrollment in Off Campus PE as shown below:

Attention Middle School OCPE Parents: FISD guidelines regarding the scheduling of OCPE require that students remain on campus for all FISD required classes. OCPE will be scheduled ONLY during periods of the school day that do not conflict with required curriculum. At this time there are no approved online substitutions for the core classes or Tech Apps.
