Frisco ISD welcomes school counseling interns for both the fall and spring semesters. Please note that we seek interns enrolled in programs that qualify them to take the TExES 252 exam and are actively pursuing their Texas School Counselor Certification. Adhering to the timeline will facilitate the efficient handling of requests.
Fall Semester 2024 - School counseling intern applications will be accepted starting Monday, March 28, 2024. Applications must be received by Monday, June 17, 2024.
Spring Semester 2025 - School counseling intern applications will be accepted starting Monday, October 7, 2024. Applications must be received by Monday, November 25, 2024.
Each school counseling intern requesting placement must complete and submit a District Criminal Background Check. (If you are a current employee, you will not need to complete another background check.)
The background check will be processed, and the placement process will begin upon approval.
Requests for placement will only be accepted with an approved background check.
Prospective school counseling interns must work with their program supervisor to complete and submit a School Counseling Intern Placement Application.
Once complete, the application must be forwarded to the program supervisor for review.
The program representative will review, sign, and approve the application.
The school counseling intern should submit the School Counselor Intern Application to
FISD Managing Director of Guidance and Counseling at via CookSt@friscoisd.org
Please include a current resume with the application.
Placement availability is limited; therefore, placement requests should be made as soon as possible.
School counseling interns are discouraged from contacting principals or individual counselors requesting placement.
All requests should go through the above process. Candidates are welcome to include requests based on their level of interest and geographic location. FISD will do its best to accommodate these requests, but placement is not guaranteed.
