Intra-District Campus Transfer Request

Each year, elementary and middle school students in Frisco ISD can apply to transfer to a campus that is not closed or at capacity from their home-zoned campus. The application window is available annually.

When reviewing petitions for student transfers, Frisco ISD considers each request individually; however, the Administrative Transfer Guidelines are in place to ensure consistency in the process.

  • All general high school transfer requests will be denied.

If you move anytime during the school year, this process differs from an in-district transfer. Please contact your campus immediately to update your address and provide your new proof of residency. Check the Attendance Zones webpage to verify if your new address affects your school zoning.

2024-25 Transfer Requests

The 2024-25 transfer request window has closed. Requests submitted by current FISD students outside the designated transfer windows will be denied.

2024-25 Approved Transfers

Students in grades K-4 and 6-7 approved for 2024-25 student transfers may stay at their current school until they complete the highest grade offered at that campus, subject to their residence remaining within Frisco ISD boundaries.

All families must verify residency and enter into a written transfer agreement before each school year.

  • Students in grades 5 and 8 transitioning to a new campus for the 2025-26 school year will need to follow the usual transfer request procedures and may need to reapply if they are not attending the same campus as they are attending now.

  • Students who require centralized special education services will receive notification of their campus assignment for the 2025-26 school year from the special education department in December and will have the opportunity to apply for a transfer at that time.

  • High school students granted a transfer under extenuating circumstances will remain in effect until the student graduates from the approved campus.

Revocation

Ensure your child remains in good standing. Transfers may be revoked due to:

  • Lack of academic progress

  • Poor attendance or excessive tardiness

  • Persistent misconduct

  • A single serious incident of misconduct

  • Persistent late pick-ups at dismissal time
