North Texas Now! Program

Through North Texas NOW!, Frisco ISD juniors and seniors take a half-day of dual credit classes at the UNT campus in Frisco and then spend the remainder of the day at the home campus.

The collaborative, two-year, interdisciplinary, project-based learning experience is designed to help students see the relevance of course content as they apply it to solve real-world problems.

The North Texas NOW! program is a set pathway that focuses on the 42-semester-credit-hour Texas Core Curriculum. Core requirements are common to all public colleges and universities in Texas, and a completed Texas Core Curriculum is fully transferable between public higher education institutions in Texas.

College Readiness Scores

Students enrolling in dual credit must meet requirements for either a dual credit waiver or TSI exemption. View the UNT waivers and exemptions.

Dual credit students not meeting the college readiness requirement with a STAAR/EOC, PSAT, SAT or ACT exam score may take the Texas Success Initiative Assessment 2 (TSIA2). UNT administers the TSIA2 at the testing center in Denton or virtually through remote proctoring. Contact the UNT Testing Center for more information or to schedule an appointment.

Math College-Readiness Disclaimer: Students can be conditionally accepted as Rising 11th graders into Year 1 of the North Texas Now!  program.  They will have until Spring of their junior year to earn the college-readiness math score required for Year 2 of the program.  This will allow our students more time to build their math skills prior to taking UNT's Statistics course in the fall of their Senior year.

If your student is required to take the TSIA2 exam in order to meet UNT's college-readiness requirement, the district can provide your student access to free, asynchronous online learning modules via Edgenuity. To sign up , please have your student fill out the TSIA2 Test Prep Interest Form.

Notification of Admission

Students must complete a Commitment Form within 48 hours of receiving the email to secure their seat in the program. Students who accept admission will then be required to meet additional enrollment deadlines. Failure to meet these deadlines will result in the loss of admissions.
