Navy Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps
Effective July 1, 2024, Frisco ISD’s Navy National Defense Cadet Corps has become a Navy Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps. While both programs strive for the same mission to instill ideals of leadership, character, honor, and service, the NJROTC designation also brings federal funding.
Program Overview
NJROTC students take courses that meet both classroom learning objectives as well as physical fitness goals. Students are given opportunities to serve their community, become leaders in their class and participate in area competitions.
The NJROTC program of choice is housed at Lebanon Trail High School. Students applying for admission to the program are required to attend LTHS as full-time students. Transportation is the responsibility of each student and their family.
Frisco ISD program graduates have gone on to exciting new chapters, including attending the U.S. Naval Academy, West Point, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Harvard, Texas A&M and Texas Tech; enlisting in a variety of armed forces; and becoming first responders. Regardless of what ambitions Frisco ISD’s outstanding students may have, the NJROTC program is dedicated to building the confidence to achieve them.
